Child's Happy Birthday Card

The sketch on CPS-Card Sketches today lent itself well to this birthday card for a child. I needed a simple idea. Our church will be co-sponsoring a "Jubilee Celebration" with another church in September. The idea behind the event is "to provide much needed blessings and relief to people who need help meeting some of life's most basic necessities." It is a free event and will include a clothing tent, grocery tent, commerce tent (furniture, housewares, gift certificates, etc), children's tent (toys, candy, activities), haircuts, family photos, chair massage and employment booth (as well as other things). Our church is collecting LARGE containers of laundry detergent, as this is an expense that quite often these families can't afford. I have decided that I would love to make some cards for the event. I'm sure that greeting cards are something that are considered a non-essential expense. My goal is to make children's birthday cards, so that families can make a child's birthday special. I'm going to try to make as many as I can, so needed a quick and simple idea. I'm sure that other kinds of cards would be appreciated as well, but have decided to make this my focus for now. The stamp set is from Hero Arts and has many different cute animal faces. They include an elephant, lion, frog, owl, hippo, tiger, koala and others I can't remember. I plan to make many of these cards using the different animals. They are colored with Prisma pencils. The birthday sentiment is SU, but don't know the name. It is the first set I purchased in the early 90's. The oval is a punch that I own. Thanks for stopping by today to take a look. Blessings to you!

CPS114 Challenge

I love this cute ladybug from Sweet-n-Sassy stamps. This was my first time using digital stamps and it won't be my last. I thought he would work great for the CPS challenge. Colored the image with prismas and OMS. The ladybug paper was some I had in my stash - Over the Moon Press. I don't know the company the ladybug stamp is from. The flower cut outs on the bottom were made using a Boss Kuts die in my Big Shot machine.

CPS113 Challenge

I'm having a bit more time this week and completed another card challenge. I'm really pleased with the way this one turned. I was able to use some scrap paper (the blue stripes) and a "leftover" flower sticker. The rick-rack is actually made of felt. I purchased it last fall at Hobby Lobby. It sure was easy to use and makes for a nice border. Thanks for looking.

CPS111 Challenge

Here's my card for the CPS challenge this week. The stamp set I used is SU Seaside and I really like how it turned out. Unfortunately, lately it seems I have a great need for sympathy cards.

Challenge Card

Here's my card for the CPS 110 challenge. There is no stamping on this card (although I may add a thinking of you sentiment later). The design is done with SU rub-ons and was a fun way to design a card. I cut the scallop circle with my Quickutz Cookie Cutters and then punched each scallop. The border is made with a Martha Stewart border punch, which I punched and then trimmed down and attached to the card front. The green cardstock is SU Wild Wasabi. A simple and fresh card.
