Stamptacular Challenge - Red, White Blue and a star too!

Here's my card for this week's Stamptacular Challenge. The stamps are new ones I purchased from Rubbernecker Stamps. I stamped with Versamark and then rubbed over them with pastels. The white background was run through my Big Shot with a texture plate. Then I highlighted the stars with Prisma pencil. I drew red lines on the paper to give the impression of a "ribbon-type" border. The sentiment is SU and plaid paper is old and name unknown, from my stash. Thanks for stopping by today to peek. Blessings to you.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Pink, Brown and Green

Here's my card for today's challenge. The challenge was to use pink, green and brown. The background was stamped with a SU stamp and Close to Cocoa. The flower was made using a SU circle scallop, then cutting in toward the center at the bottom of each scallop. I ran the center circle through a cuttlebug folder before attaching. The leaves were cut with a Sizzix die. Thanks for stopping by today. We finally have a springlike day here today so I'm enjoying that!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #6

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge had this sketch for the week: Here is the card that I made for the challenge: I received the image from a swap I participated in...I believe it is a SU stamp. I used a rectangle nestabilities to make the deckle edge. The plaid paper and ribbon is some that I had in my stash. The stamped verse is from PTI and I thought it went well with the lighthouse.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #5

The theme for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge for this week is "Mum's the word" and I made mine a thank-you card. My mom has had such a great influence on my life that I felt the best way to recognize that was to say "thanks". As mothers, we do have a tremendous opportunity to shape the lives of our children. My prayer is that I have influenced the life of my son in as positive a way as my mother has influenced my life. I made my own card background my stamping flowers and hearts. I colored the flowers with Prismas pencils and OMS. Punched the lace using the MS border punch. The butterfly was colored with Twinkling H20's and the oval edge was inked with my stamp pad. When I had completed the oval, it looked like it needed "something more" but I didn't want to clutter things. So, I took the Prisma pencil and LIGHTLY colored the entire oval (it's very subtle), then went over it with OMS. I like the result - it added just the right effect. Stamptacular Challenge #3 - Charmed I'm Sure

I'm glad to be done with the past busy week. I had some time to "play" yesterday, but ran out of time to post. This is the card I came up with using a charm. I used the SU stampin' around STAR wheel and versa mark on blue cardstock. I cut out the edge borders and center square, then used a star punch to punch the stars. I had a difficult time getting started on this challenge - charms aren't something that I usually use in my crafting - but am very happy with the result. It's a good thing to stretch the creativity sometimes. Thanks for looking!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Black +White+ One

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. I was busy getting ready for a scrapbook day next Saturday. Here's my card for the Black and White Plus One challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. I wanted to keep it simple and really enjoyed making the swirls. I used a white gel pen for drawing. The flowers are origami blossoms, folded out of 1 inch squares of purple origami paper. I colored the center with the gel pen. The inside sentiment is from Northwoods Rubber Stamp company and fits in well with the card theme. I added one more flower on the inside because I had an extra, but think it adds nicely to the card.

Stamptacular Challenge #2

HAPPY EASTER! HE IS RISEN! Here's my card for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge "This is for the Birds". The challenge was to create a card that includes stamping and a bird. I knew what I would use right away - a stamp set that I owned but had not been inked - Picket Fence by Inkadinkado. I tried three new things (new to me anyway) on this card. First, I had a new Spellbinders die set (scalloped squares) and used it to create my two squares. As I said, the stamp set had yet to be used for a card and I tried a new technique for coloring the image, Prisma colored pencils blended with baby oil. (A great tutorial can be found here.) It was a fun technique to try and I think that it will be one I use in the future. I definitely need some practice however. Overall, I'm happy with the results. I had never "constructed" using a clear stamp set and, looking at the results, I think that my "scene" may need a little more of something, but for a first try it's okay. Thanks for looking.

Scraptacular Sunday Challenge - Bonus 1

Well, I couldn't let the day close without trying the bonus challenge too. Wanting to try out Twinkling H2O paints last week, I had already stamped (embossed) and colored several of these flower branches from SU Artfully Asian. I have been wondering how to use them and thought one would work perfectly for this challenge. Both pattern papers are from Deja Views (stripe is Fresh Print Plum Stripes, green is Sharon Ann Collection Leaf Purple Garden). The "friends are flowers" saying is also SU, but a really old stamp of which I don't know the set name. I had come across the ribbon frame idea on Split Coast Stampers and wanted to try it. I really like the results.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - New Beginnings

Wow - I'm surprised that I had time to complete my challenge today as there were so many bonus posts that kept me busy on the blogs. But I did meet the challenge and here's the result. I decided to make a baby card. The background paper is scrap paper left over from another project. I stamped the ducks from the SU Mini Medleys set using SU Summer Sun ink, then punched out the deckle square with a McGill punch. The yellow is a stripe from the background paper that I mounted on blue cardstock. I trimmed the edges of the blue card stock with a Fiskars edge scissor (Stamp), then ran through a crimper. The Congratulations is from another SU set (More Great Greetings). I attached a blue bow to finish it off. Thanks for looking!
