365 Cards - Day 43 Gift Card Holder
Here's what I created for this challenge. The butterfly image is a $1 stamp that I purchased at Michaels. I colored the image using Prisma Color Pencils and baby oil (this was my second try at this technique and it came out better). The daisies on the wings were colored using twinkling H20's. I cut the square with spellbinder's rectangles. The Celebrate is an old SU set from the early 1990's and stamped in SU whisper white. I punched a hole in the edge and used ribbon to close the card.
Here is what the card looks like inside. The construction is not original with me. I found the idea at a local scrapbook store, but I like how the gift card "pops" out when opened. The original card holder idea did not have any embellishment inside. I wanted to include an area for a message and then brighten it up a bit.
Here's a photo of what the cardstock looked like before I assembled it.
The adhesive is applied around the edges of the valley and then pushed together (make sure there is no adhesive where the gift card will sit). I used a razor blade to cut a slit in the fold so that the gift card would slip in.
